چکیده

AGENESIS of the tricu.spid valve may occur in two forms: (1) tricuspid atresia and (2) "tunguarded tricuspid orifice." In the latter, althouigh the normal orifice between the right atritum and right ventricle exists, there is no tricuspid valvtular tissue. The purpose of this report is to describe the clinical, radiologic, and pathologic findings of suich a case in which ptulmonary atresia coexisted. The entity of congenitally unguiarded tricuispid orifice has some similarity to the case reported by Klein. As far as we are aware, no other similar case is in the literature.

An unusual case of congenitally unguarded tricuspid valve orifice associated with pulmonary valve atresia and intact ventricular septum.

We report on a premature neonate who presented with cyanosis soon after birth. She was found on echocardiography to have an unguarded tricuspid valve orifice associated with pulmonary valve atresia and an intact interventricular septum. Owing to the small-sized pulmonary arteries, she was initially managed conservatively with prostaglandin infusion, and at one year of age underwent a successful...

Staged Fontan's operation for unguarded tricuspid orifice with pulmonary atresia.

We report a rare case of unguarded tricuspid orifice with pulmonary atresia, which is devoid of any guarding valvular tissue at tricuspid annulus. A left Blalock-Taussig shunt was constructed on the 17th day of life. At 4 years of age, a bidirectional Glenn's operation was performed for the further growth of the pulmonary bed and the volume reduction of the left ventricle. Finally, an extracard...

Unguarded tricuspid orifice with pulmonary atresia: successful radiofrequency ablation of an accessory pathway in an infant.

A male infant with the rare lesion of unguarded tricuspid orifice in the setting of pulmonary valve atresia, intact ventricular septum, and a hypoplastic right ventricle is described. The patient presented with cyanosis at 1 day old; transcutaneous oxygen saturations were between 20% and 30% in room air, and 60% in 100% inspired oxygen. Pre-excitation was found incidentally on the ECG and the p...

We thank the Editor for giving us the opportunity to reply to the ‘Letter to the Editor’ describing the unguarded tricuspid orifice with pulmonary atresia [1]. We congratulate Kariya et al. for successful surgical treatment using a total right ventricular exclusion and total cavo-pulmonary connection (TCPC). Because of the high mortality of this rare anomaly, there are only a few successful rep...
